The floor was packed and out into it I went, the brief compressions of air battering my chest and making my bones resonate. You know the music was good as it took brief violence to clear enough room for me. And so it went, whirling like dervishes and hopping like rabbits, startled in the dark.
I remember remembering, or trying to remember as one slid to the next. Always the same, always different. One short, one tall. One slim and one solid. All trying to remember the remembrance. All different, all the same. I never remember the brief intimacies but instead remember them. Clothes rumpled and stained. Skin flushed from exertion. The multihued light glistening off of the various radiances and causing them to glow.
Like angels in the night.

Well, its done. For all the good it'll do me. I stayed home from work (Evil Evil man) and called in the plumber and the locksmith. Now, 13 hrs later, its all fixed. You know, I coulda gone to work and come home in time to meet them. Too bad that they coulda shown up at anytime in the interveaning hours.
and it only cost me, drum roll please: $442.68
Mebbe I should raise the rent.
le sigh.

Last weekend I went shopping. This is reletively unusual for me in that I always go with my mother, who hates shopping. So I don't like it. Whenever I go on my own I kinda get an idea of what I want into my head, and where to go get it. I park at the closest mall entrance, walk in, walk out and then I have it. Last weekend, as a kind of experiment I went out with Iain and Shae to go shopping.
I wanted some gothy type clothes, not my usual Jeans + T-shirt or Kaki's +Tshirt routine. I tried to get some more fashionable clothes. So I got paid, and not 24 hours later I was shopping.
We met up at chapters on Whyte and went out on the prowel. First we went to Le Chateau. Arthur's comment about this will probabally be "Only gay guys shop at Le Chateau, It's a woman's clothing store." But there I found a really nice pair of pants. I didn't get them because they didn't have extra huge sizes.
Actually, we hit Le Chateau second, I was mistaken. First we actually went to Gravity Pope where all the cool kids shop for shoes. I ended up with a pair of Trippen shoes. If you follow the link they are in the middle of the top row. I didn't buy them just then as they were a little pricey.
Third on our list was the sanctuary. They have some nice clothes. I ended up with a bezippered vest with lots of shiny buttons. That was good. they also had a black lace up shirt I should have gotten then, but left with just the vest.
Our final stop was Rowena. They have some nice Romantigoth stuff. On the way there I picked up the shoes from Gravity pope. Once we were there I got a button up baggy black shirt, and a indigo blue vest. They are cool.
The best thing of this whole thing was the constant talk and the fact that we all wanted to be there. No one was forced into it, and it was a lot of fun. I should go out with them more.

Heya. Sorry but comments are down for a little while. And Laz, if you want to publish anytime soon you're going to have to change your settings to have your index page to be index.html. Or you can wait till I get around to fixing it manually.

I just took the british quiz that was featured a while back in the me(ish) website, apperently:
I am 202.5% British, just like HRH Prince Charles Though you'll never be king you certainly know where your castle is.
Take the Brit Quiz at darrenlondon.tripod.com/britquiz1.htm Quiz written by Daz
I find this somewhat suspect.

Hey again, Long time no see.
So I drove back home from The Evil today. My cousin, with whom I partook of this adventure, is really cool. There aren't many people who I can sit down and listen to Linkin Park (New alternative metal) with, and then go on to pop in the new Sarah McLachlin (If you don't know her style please self educate). I always rember my cousin as being an 80's Metal chick, though she has matured in a few ways lately and is nice to talk to. anyway, that was cool, I think I may have to buy this Linkin Park CD.
I saw my father and sister off to go to sunny Estonia today. I hope they have fun, my dad certainly will. They are going for about a week so that my dad can take in some good times with people from Rotalia, his old fraternity. My sister will tag along sorta. But it will be good for her to be there for a little while.
Calgary (The Evil) is a horrid place sometimes. In some ways it is much better to be around in than Edmonton, however you usually have to drive to get anywhere. Calgarians all (seemingly) like to drive fast and don't drive defensively. So this afternoon while driving a ways across the city it was alot of fun to try to dodge out of their way and keep my sister's car prangless. Once I got to the mall I was going to (on my father's behalf, I don't really shop alone unless I have to) I realized another truth about The Evil. They walk the same way they drive, poorly. If you go to most malls around Edmonton there is a sorta underlying feeling that at least slow travelling people try to stay more to the side, and people walking one way versus the other tend to stay to one side. In The Evil, no rules seem to apply. Needless to say that when I was through with the mall my trip home was made in a somewhat expediant fashion. My though was that if you weren't around traffic, they couldn't bother you with having to weave and dodge to prevent accidents. On further reflection the only mode of transportation that Calgarians are noted for is horseback, mabey another mind has to think over the commands and veto the more stupid or somthing.
On Saturday I discovered a new vice. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I nearly peed myself. This show has five openly gay (and very flambouyant) gay guys taking a straight guy and giving him tips on style, fashion, grooming. Then they set up some sorta event for this guy to go strut his stuff. It was a very cool show.
My dad and I went out shopping for a vehicle (well not really, more like shopping to see what sorta vehicle I can get when I have the money) I test drove a beautiful VW Golf that had like 50K km on it (practically new) that is in my target price range. It was so cool, I woulda taken it even though it was red.
I was flipping through a catalogue at my parents place when I ran across something that I knew, then and there, was going to be a present for a good friend of mine. Its great when lightning strikes like that. Just kinda flip... flip... flip... drool.... then, not 3 hours later, it was in my posession and shall be confered later. It cost a little more than my target per friend price range (double... triple, but who's counting.) it should be worth it though. I got 3 gifts down now, just need another... lets see... 10 or so to go.... no wait, 11. wow, I got too many friends. Wait... 12...
On friday night I went to a black tie dinner as part of the ASTech awards. It was very cool, a black tie affair, so I went in a Tuxedo. I'm thinking of mabey giving a copy of the ensuing picture to Nightshade so that she can update my wanted picture. Anyway, this affair turned out to be $185 a plate. Fortunetly my mom and dad were covered by the awards ceremony (as dad was winning one) and my sister managed to scam some off of the Calgary Herald for us. Our table was in the back. But they had 4 very large screens broadcasting the action. They hired a MC by the name of Johnny 'Bagpipes' Johnston. This was a little discordant. But they had a couple great speakers (The Honorable Peter Laugheed) who made up for it. Also some of the contenders had some great projects that they were nominated for. It was interesting. The food was also excellent, save that I coulda gotten a better sauce for the beef tenderloin from the supermarket (I woulda said McDonalds but that woulda been over the line, if not untrue.) That soup was fabulus, a sorta excentric Yam (and other assorted gourd) pottage. I almost asked for a second bowl instead of dessert. We had some interesting conversation over dinner. We had a music reviewer, an engineer, an engineer's wife (she never said that she had a job doing anything, I got the impression that she was a homemaker), an arts and culture (and snowboarding) revewer, a pair of Intellectual Property lawyers, my sister (a PR lady) and myself (a warehouse worker who dabbles in/has knowledge of alot of things) We talked about music, politics, city's and other assorted topics. The hard pressed question of the night, which Pop music singer could the world to without. My suggestion of Shania Twain won with 3 outta 8 votes.
Anyway, a weekend in the life of James. Now off for a long day tomorrow and then a day off... then 3 more days...
