It has been an interesting week.

Lets see. Lots of work got done on the yard. My basement no longer floods at the drop of some water. It has been great having Jim, Brian, Dan, and Nicolai help me with it. Mostly I need to figure out what to do with the large level change I have at one point of the yard now. I'm sure I'll figure that out soon.

I am flat broke for the first time in a long time. I guess this will make the next couple days interesting.

My character in Gorra's Love and Valour game is getting married on saturday. I never thought that that would happen in a roleplaying game to one of my characters.

I started my second VGAP game a couple days ago. Now its just a matter of keeping everything on track. I finally got to start a wandering tribes game though. Thats soo cool.

Today I had a conversation with Brian. Now Brian and I have these conversations occasionally, where I try to explain my reletively cohearant philosophies toward life to Brian in a way that hopefully will increase his understanding and productivity toward his goals. I found tonights chat particularially good in that I helped him to formulate a plan towards his stated goal and identified some of the major steps and limitations to it. What was really nice though was that in explaining a process that I'd only really thought about unconsiously before, I looked at it in terms of my lifes goals and motivations. I realized that I am alot further towards walking the path that I most need to be or want to be or both than I had previously thought. And I also realized how to further my walking down that path and incorporate the things that I really need to do whilst on it. quite enlightening.

For those of you who are now enraged because I have explained this thought process and mentioned goals and methods without talking directly about them, It is not because I don't love you, I simply don't want that information out in the public domain. If you ask privately, however, more may be expected.

Hopefully I'll post more next week.

Night.

So adventures in backyard excavation pt I comes to a close. Helping tonight were Brian, Jim, and Nicolai. We made more progress than I had expected as I was only wanting to show everyone what was going on, however we got all the concrete in the back broken up, most of the patio tiles moved, all of the cement tiles moved, and just less than half the sod removed. Now so long as the threatening thunderstorm doesn't arrive I should have enough done tomorrow to prevent the deluge in the basement, part the second.

Anyone who wants to show up tomorrow and lend a hand is welcome. Unfortunetly beer won't be provided until friday. I should be arriving home around 6:30 from work to continue the demolition and regrading.

Thats the entirety of my life tonight, please don't hate me for my simplicity.

just a quick note to all those who may or may not think that they have stuff that they are doing with me over the next week and week end, they don't. The only exceptions to this are Other and the Gorra Steph Bren Jim crew. The only reason for the Latter party is that Jim has kindly offered his services in helping me to fix some minor rain related house problems. You know, the kind that lead to having a waterfall (More of a jet really but waterfall works too) comming out of the side of my basement in a couple, three places.

That is all.

Well it was an interesting party last night.

We were running a bachelor party for a guy I've known for a long time. He's getting married in about a month so we went to give him his sendoff. The origional plan was to go to Cancun for this. Unfortunetly, most of the people who went couldn't scrape togeather enough money to go so... Anyway, we went to the Korean Village for the buffet. This has special meaning as the bachelor lived in korea for a year and taught. We drank what was essentally vodka and ate and talked for about 3 hours. It was some great food. I've been there a couple times before and never had the food turn out that good.

Afterward we went to the Cook County Saloon. Now I don't do well at bars, and a country bar playing music that I don't like to hear loud loud, it was not my idea of a good time. We were origionally supposed to go to the Suicide Girls Burlesque show, but that fell through due to poor planning. I played some pool and talked with the guys. Watched the mechanical bull buck off a few of our possee, and basically spend the evening pondering the dancing. Now I can 2 step, poorly, but like I say, country music is not ment for clubs for some reason. But I saw about 4 guys on the dance floor before I left. All the good dancing couples were Girl Girl couples, fast and energetic. I don't think that they were couple couples, but with so many guys around I would think that moue would be with all the girls out dancing.

Anyway, off to work, then mabey to stage 13. If, that is, I feel like spending $100 on seeing Evanescence.

I've done some thinking about the outcome of the canadian federal election and have come to some small conclsions. Firstly, with the results being tied I am sure it won't be more than a couple years until we have to do the same thing over again. Not that I think that this is a bad thing. On the contrary, I constantly hope for a minority government because then some of the special interest resolutions become more important, and the governing its self becomes more than a straight line in the majority party's interests.

That being said I am appalled by the campaigning tactics. Mostly of the liberals, but sometimes the conservitives and NDP were in there. I hardly ever watch television or listen to the radio and yet I knew of some of the american style smear tactics going on. It mad me want to vote green and go home. Low voter turnout doesn't annoy me, I won't rise for tactical voting, but smear campaigns, those have to stop.

After all, I certainly won't stand for the patriot act.

Ya know, I find it funny, I spend several years of effort putting togeather a large cd collection which is pretty good only to have small things happen that make me question my sanity. For example, today I was listening to a cd which I have owned for a year or two but not, for one reason or another, listened to extendedly. So while I was driving to Saskatchewan I threw it in and immedately recognized why I bought it. It has songs from alot of my favorite female vocalists, and quite a few of the small name bands that I like but haven't quite smashed on to the market yet. You have the Alanis Morriset's and the Sarah McLachlin's, and then you have Joydrop, and Sarah Slean. Amaizing that you can get a collection with all this on it. Anyway, the strange thing was that I was listening to it and I was like, "Hey, Isn't that a joydrop song (Please note that my Joydrop cd was stolen a couple years ago)" And listened to it was pretty sure. So I looked it up on the internet when I got home, sure enough, it was indeed a Joydrop song. Then I was looking throught the track list and I was like hey, Martina Sorbera, that's why I recognize that song! So I looked to the left of my computer, and there was a Martina Sorbera CD, autographed. Sometimes I frightedn myself.

Anyway, thats all for now.

so... weekend...

Drive out was long, and back was long. I got just about a day and a half in with the extended family. It was pretty good. Its kinda nice trying to talk to some of my cousins now that we are adults. What else? Umm... well we took photo's and played cards and danced. We ate elk steaks and just generally enjoyed ourselves. I even drank a little.

On friday I got a raise. That was good too. I like raises. It is better than the 1.5% pittance that I got at the hotel, it was like 9.5%. Even unasked for. I think I'll relesh in that joy for a while.

Aside from that I think I need more sleep.

Hey folks,

Sorry about the delay in posting, I've just not been thinking anything good for you recently.

I've seen Farenheit 9/11 a couple times now, it seemed ok to me. I like how he put alot of the pieces togeather. I think mabey there are more pieces out there, but that would have made a longer documentary.

Going away this weekend to Blaine Lake Sk. I will be back on sunday. It should be good though, I'm having a family reunion and all of my mom's siblings will be there, and all but 2 of their children with spouses, and almost all the grandkids. I think it will be the largest ever gathering of that particular clan.

Work has been better lately. Most of the really awful people are gone. Left are most of the good workers, plus some of the people who can't quite hold up their end of the stick. They tried to get rid of Mealticket. Basicly he came in late one day when the boss was on vacation, and the superviser sent him home for it. The next day when he arrived on time the superviser told him that he was unwelcome as he hadn't been asked to return. This went on untill the boss got back from vacation and was Told from on high that Mealticked was comming back to work, and we were paying him for the missed days.

The nice thing about work these days is that I am the designated floater, which means that now I am crosstrained into Picking, Shipping, Crossdocks, Cages, QA, Recieving, and Projects Shipping. I have a new job about every week, and am rarely bored with what I am doing. It does backfire some times as tomorrow as I have to work a late shift to cover for one of the Cages guys who wants a day off. I want tomorrow off.

In other news, in a blatant ripoff of Shades, I will be going down to the Gimbell eye center in a couple weeks to have an evaluation done, I'm hoping that I can get it done at the gimbel, preferably in calgary. But we'll see.

And thats about it. These days my life is Work, Computer games, RPG's, VGAP, and errantness.

Enjoy your long weekends folks.
