So, since you have asked.

I put in my two weeks, I'll work until friday the first then I am over to the other place. The new place is an oilfield company, strictly valves, which is in direct competition to the company I just left. I went to my boss on wednesday after having visited the new company. I told him what had gone on to that point, what they were offering, and we sketched it out, mostly us sketching it out re-enforced to me what I was looking at, however he tried to see balance in it. I'll lay it out for you.

Compensation:
New company offering a 25% wage increase in pay rate, plus new company is offering 10-15 hours of overtime a week.

Scheduling:
Despite the mad overtime hours, I will actually get off earlier, downside is getting up an hour to hour and a half earlier.

Benifets:
Roughly equivalent, the new company pays blue cross, while the old one has 80-100 percent coverage through another company.

Drive to and fro:
Despite being about 3 times the distance, the drive will go from 15-20 min to 25-30 min

Management:
My old boss is the best I have ever had (sorry laz). However the new place is supposed to have a manager roughly in the same league

Advancement:
Not a hell of a lot in the new place admittedly, but I'm playing the game short term, looking at long term stuff is a peark.

Conditions:
New place has way less people (6 with me as opposed to 16) and a much higher equipment ratio (4 lifts for 6 people opposed to 6 lifts for 16 people) and all of their lifts are all purpose.
New place has focus on quality with throughput as seconday goal. Old shop demands high throughput and yells at ya when you don't keep the quality up.
New place's inventory is not controlled on site, and there are no computers, so no worries about that sort of thing.
New place also has no formal processes. You do it however it needs to get done, and done right. As opposed to the process flo charts of the old place that were like blueprints to something very very complex.

Perks:
Old place:
close to restarunts.
Lunchroom with microwaves, and a fridge (for 60 people)
Barbeques a couple times a year
Employee appreciation at wem once a year

New place:
Patio with barbaque for use anytime
3 fridges and a deep freeze
Use of company truck occasionally
Bonuses
Barbaque every couple weeks
Free feast couple times a year when scrap metal is removed.
Play with bobcat to clear parkinglot in winter (only if you are bored though)
Giant stereo (not that I'd ever use it)

Even if you could balance out all the other issues, compensation is still king, and their is somenthing about making almost double what I am currently making (gross, counting 25 hours overtime bi-weekly) that means that when the boss offered me a 10% raise, I had to turn it down. It is ok though, we both understand and respect eachothers positions and so there are no hard feelings.

So thats that. April 1 and 4 are the days.

Well, hello folks.

Life progresses at it's steady rate. I done some fun stuff. Went and saw a good concert with good company. Played some games, worked on the life thing. Only one new thing to add, I am going in for a job interview tomorrow. I think it'll go ok. It is a nice raise and another week of holidays. Unfortunetly it is longer hours and out of biking range (Unless I start being really crazy.) Hopefully it works out. Should know tomorrow.
