Ola,

Well, I'm around a month in now and thought it might be time for a bit of an update.

School

Well, school is about the same as I remembered it, though going to classes is much easier. It's kinda funny how much easier that is.

Classes are composed of History, Math, Computing Science, Geology, and Chemestry this term. Chemestry is a review of high school chemestry, theres some memorization but no real mental aerobics. The only real complaint that I have about this class is that my lab partner is not at all interested in doing a proper job. Geology is pretty tame as well, the hardest thing so far is memorizing mineral and rock types and descriptors. Computing Science rounds out the easier ones. The problem with this course is that I have already done it, so it is all review. It was accepted as a first year credit, but not as a specific course credit, so I have to take it again. Then comes the less than easy (mostly because they require actual work). Math I understand but just have to do a few thousand problems to understand it properly. History is the dreaded writing, but at least it is a learn how to write cousre that is not an English class. ooh, and it has the best prof.

I joined the Triathlon club here at school. It is pretty intense. We do 2 bikes, 2 swims, 1 run, and 1 core strength and streatching session. I end up pretty tired when it is done every night. But it is nice to be in a athletics course where I am not the rank beginner.

The housing situation is pretty good too. My roomates are ok, a little less dedicated than I would expect but hey, at least I can set an example. If only I could ignore the TV more. After 8 years without cable, I am trying not to get sucked back in. Oh well, life without challenges is unsatisfying.

What else, I want to write something about the buddist monk I saw a while ago, but don't have the time right now, I have a chem lab in a hour and want to prepare for that first.

Let me leave off with me saying that I will be in town on the weekend. I'll drive in Friday and leave Sunday. I already have some commitments, but I might be at R&J's on Friday, but that might is somewhat tentative. After that, my time is mostly full, but if you want to get togeather drop me an email and I'll see what I can work out.

Well, another in another step towards settling in around here, I began running today with the local running club. I got myself up at 7:30, went to one of the local running stores that puts on saturday long runs, and joined their easy group. Easy it definetly was as I may have actually broken a sweat... once. Oh well, next week I'll move up a group.

Now begins the car insurance saga.
